Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of students over designated routes and to special events. This position ensures that all passengers are transported in a safe, courteous, and timely manner in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and district policies.

• Operate a school or transit bus over assigned routes and within a scheduled timeframe.

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning and safety of the vehicle.

• Comply with all traffic regulations and safety procedures while operating the bus.

• Maintain order and discipline among passengers; report any behavioral issues to the appropriate authority.

• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting as needed, including those with disabilities.

• Keep accurate records, including route logs, incident reports, and maintenance records.

• Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or delays promptly to the transportation department.

• Ensure the bus is clean and maintained in a sanitary condition.

• Attend required safety meetings, in-service training sessions, and performance evaluations.

• Respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations.

• Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, school personnel, and the general public.
